Music Lessons at High Street Music School are held on the premises at 442 High Street Preston, Melbourne and Online using Zoom. High Street Music Preston offers tuition in the following instruments: Guitar lessons, Bass guitar lessons, Drum lessons, Piano lessons, Violin lessons, Ukulele lessons, Saxophone lessons, Flute lessons, Clarinet lessons, Oboe lessons and Singing lessons. They are half hour, one-on-one lessons and are run in conjunction with the Victorian school term. There are no classes during school holidays or on public holidays. Our music lessons service Melbourne’s northern suburbs including Preston, Ivanhoe, Heidelberg, Reservoir, Thornbury, Northcote, Bundoora, Coburg, Bellfield, Kingsbury, Fawkner, Thomastown and Lalor.
Our passionate teachers are able to assist students at any stage in their musical journey, from beginners right up to advanced musicians who want to fine tune their playing. We cater to students of all ages, having students from as young as five years old to mature aged students. All our lessons are one on one to ensure the highest level of attention is given to each student. Our teachers are experienced in all musical styles, and every lesson is tailored to help each student achieve their individual goals.
We have a concert every year, giving our students a chance to perform in front of an appreciative and supportive audience. This helps our students develop their stagecraft and build their confidence.
Our teachers are able to take students through AMEB or ANZCA exams, and can provide guidance for students that are sitting their VCE in music.
Students are required to bring their own instrument to each lesson with the exception of Drum and Piano students.
End of year concert every year.

Payment options are as follows:
$48 per lesson when you pay in advance for 2 or more lessons.
To secure the same time in the following week payment MUST be made.
$44 per lesson when you pay in advance for 10 lessons.
This payment will secure your allocated lesson time with your teacher for 1 FULL term.

Music School booking Information
- Lessons are half an hour, individual lessons only (no group class are available)
- Students who pay for a full term in advance are entitled to ONE make-up per term only. Please note sufficient notice (48hrs) must be given to be entitled to this make-up.
- Missed lessons are charged at FULL lesson rate.
- Make-up lessons are not available if a student does not turn up to their lesson without notice.
- If a teacher is unable to attend the lesson, a suitable replacement will be contacted to take the classes. If one cannot be contacted, students will be credited for that lesson.
- Where term payment is not applicable, ALL lessons must be payed at a minimum of 1 week in advance, this will secure the time slot.
- Drum students are required to bring their own Drum Sticks.
Payment options are as follows:
- $34 per lesson when you pay in advance for the term (10week =340.00)
- This payment will secure your allocated time with your teacher for 1 full term.
- Term payments include 1 lesson as a holding fee for the following term. This holding fee is fully refundable if you are not continuing in that following term.
- We require 4 weeks notice if you are not continuing.
- $38 per lesson when you pay in advance for 2 or more lessons.
- To secure the same time after the three lessons are completed, a further payment must be made before the last lesson.
