Bijendra Byanjankar is a Melbourne based Nepalese guitarist and teacher.
Bijendra has been in the music scene since the late 90s, starting out as a singer and later picked up guitar as his main instrument. He has studied guitar at NMS institute in Kathmandu in early 2000s. Successfully playing in few bands, he has won several lead guitar awards in various competitions in Kathmandu in Nepal. He began teaching guitar to private students, and later went to India to work as a guitar teacher at Symphony Music Institute.
After moving to Melbourne he joined an Australian progressive metal band Circadian Pulse and played guitar for 10 years. With his newly formed world fusion band MAHAGUTHI and rock band Circle of Mountain (COM) he played few shows in Melbourne. Bijendra has studied diploma of music in MWT institute in Oakleigh. He has been working as private guitar instructor, music arranger, composer and recording artist.
He has been playing guitar for 25 years. Starting out with his style of rock and heavy metal music to world fusion. He has played in several bands along his musical journey. His influence comes from east to west. Mahavisnu Orchestra, Shakti, Paco DeLucia, Al Di Meola, Extreme, Mr Big, Dream Theatre, Iron Maiden etc.
